| COLLECT ANCIENT COINS IN ITALY |
Ancient coin collecting is legal and admitted by the new Beni Culturali Code of January 16th, 2004.
Collecting ancient coins is a beautiful way to increase the history, this way enriching our own personal culture. Through the sudy of coins it is possible to increase each one's culture and so the culture of all the nation.
The Codice considers “beni culturali” only those numismatic collections for which the is already the “Dichiarazione” provided by the article 13 (in the prevous laws called Notifica dello Stato) and this declaration can be made only for those collections of extraordinary artistic and historical interest (art. 10 capo 1 comma 4b).
Therefor the numismatic collection consists of those coins of extraordinary interest, leaving out those of archaeological artistical and historical interest (as by the article 10 capo 1 comma 4b).
Therefor it is not considered bene culturale (and so not regulated by this law) a collection which has a commercial value less than € 46.598,00 (Allegato A, comma 13b ed allegato B comma 4). |

| ATTENTIONS AND PRECAUTIONS |
To organize a collection of ancient coins you better proceed with caution. In case of controls, the probable crime must be proved by the local Court but it is better for who is in good faith to organize an archive of its private collection which can help.
This will be useful to remember happy times.
Buying from private it is better to verify the legitim provenience of the good and receive a declaration.
If you buy abroad outside the EU it is better to preserve the receipt and the customs report which certifies the tax payments.
If you buy in the EU from a numismatic professionist or from a auction you better preserve the receipt whith the unique references of the coin |
